Harris and Lori
Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs
August 19, 2008
Harris and Lori had a beautiful evening for their engagement portraits! It had rained for days until the afternoon of their portrait session, and then we were greeted by clear blue skies when we arrived at the Garden of the Gods. It was fun for me to observe Harris and Lori interact during our session, because they are so affectionate and visibly in love. I was especially enchanted by the way that Harris would light up every time that Lori smiled. They will be getting married next month at the Broadmoor Hotel, and I can’t wait to see them on their wedding day!
I thought it was so cute that she’d raise up on her tiptoes to kiss him.
you take such amazing photographs.
I am a huge fan of your work. I have been a fan on real weddings for awhile. I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you I think your work is amazing.

If The Candidates Know What’s Right For Them…….
…you and Mike will drive up to Denver this week to take lovely campaign portraits of Barack and Michele Obama, then go to St. Paul next week to likewise take beautiful pictures of John and Cindy McCain.
Their campaigns both need your fine photography!
Wow, it’s great that you’re here in Colorado! I hope you’re enjoying your new home. Good luck to your fiance as he starts his new job!
It’s great to meet you, and I’d love to chat with you about your wedding if you’re ever interested. ๐
I hope this doesn’t sound weird.. but you make normal people look wonderful. I love this. Turns out we don’t need models to have great portraits ๐

I’ve loved your photography since I first saw a post of yours on LiveJournal a few years ago. I’ve always dreamed of having a Colorado wedding (I lived outside of Denver when I was a kid — but for the past 10 years, I lived in Augusta, Georgia).
But as of a couple months ago, I’m actually living in Colorado (Steamboat Springs) and am engaged. I’m nowhere near starting the planning, as my fiance JUST moved out to Grand Junction from Georgia for a job, which he starts Monday. So it will be probably at least a year before we can logically get married, because I don’t want to leave my new job too early.
Anyway, I’m sorry for the rambling. I’m going to add you to my friends list, if you don’t mind.

Charlotte, you have such a way of capturing such sweet moments between couples. I really like the one of them surrounded by the trees with the flare of the sun in the background.

beautiful couple as well!

You know, she lights up when she sees him too.
They are a gorgeous couple. I love all those photos. They must be thrilled.
Congratulations!
AH! I love the tip toe – shadow kiss. Absolutely perfect!
wow.
Yeah – gotta find a way to get to Colorado when I’m back in my pre-preg clothes for a family portrait session with you ๐ Or find out the next time you come back to the east coast to see your family and add a paid day to your vacation!
Beautiful!
Beautiful!
lovely! what a pretty location, too.
if you thought it’s cute that she raises on her toes to kiss him, you’d LOVE my boyfriend and i. he’s 6’3″. i’m 5’0″. it makes for interesting times ๐
Beautiful! As with your earlier post, I find myself drawn to the one of them in front of the greenery (with the sun in the left-hand side of the frame). I also like the one of him picking her up, and there are a number of the close-up ones (the first one and the last few, for example) that are really lovely. There does seem to be – if I can be a nerd about it – a diminishing marginal return with the distance, though – there are one or two where they almost seem a little too small – the background is gorgeous, but they’re not really big enough for it to be a good engagement picture, in my mind (although maybe it would be good blown up really large?). Anyway, beautiful job!
