Yesterday was Santa’s annual visit to Lake Anne Plaza, and it was as adorable as always. Each year, he arrives by boat, accompanied by several of his elf friends on paddle boards. Then he sits with the local children for a few hours at the Plaza, listening to their sweet wishes and posing for photos. Santa’s visit is part of Jingle on the Lake, an annual holiday celebration on the Plaza that also includes musical performances, cookie decorating, kids’ crafts, and more.

This year Santa was also joined by Susann Gerstein, who was given the honor of Grand Marshall of the flotilla. Susann is a longtime member of the Lake Anne community and the owner of Small Change Consignment, a beloved children’s store that recently closed on the Plaza when Susann retired. We were all happy to have her back for a visit with Santa!

      UPDATE (12/12/19).

My photos of this event appeared in the Reston Connection, including the cover.

Jingle on the Lake takes place every year at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston on the first Saturday in December. Admission is free, and so are the photos with Santa and other family-friendly activities.
