Mike and I were invited to attend the Festival Party on the Saturday night of the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival. It was a total blast! The party took place in the Pavilion at Reston Town Center, and it was a wonderful party with a DJ, burgers from the Counter, beer, wine, and lots of dancing. The festival’s artists and supporters of the Greater Reston Arts Center were there, and those people sure do have a good time.
One of the highlights of the party was the performance art of Baltimore artist Laure Drogoul and her team. Several performers and even giant puppets mingled among us throughout the party, dressed in costumes that drew attention to environmental issues. As the DJ ramped up the music, these performers danced right alongside the rest of us. It was wild and wacky, and truly felt like I would want an art festival party to feel.
You can see more of my event photography here. Would you like me to photograph an event for your organization or publication? Please reach out and let me know what you’re planning. I’d love to hear about it.
