Last weekend, I had one of my favorite kinds of photo sessions — a casual family outing with a mixture of posed portraits, relaxed candids, and plenty of silliness.
Family portraits don’t need to be formal, once-a-year-for-holiday-cards events. I urge everyone to also consider professional photography of the occasional casual outing or typical day. It’s important to have formal family portraits taken once in a while, but the simple moments also deserve to be beautifully documented. These are the days that make the stories of people’s lives.
On Sunday I met this family at Walker Nature Center in Reston. They came prepared for the cold, so we took a walk through the trails and enjoyed wintertime in the woods. As you’ll see, they had so much fun!
Many thanks to Erika and her family for inviting me to join them on this adventure!
