I’ve mentioned my long-standing love of Lake Anne’s summer concert series, but I had never been to a concert at Reston Station until I was sent there by Reston Community Center to photograph the Summerbration Concert Series. It’s a really cool location for a concert!
The Summerbration weekly concerts take place on Friday evenings at the entrance to the trapezoid-shaped Jahn Building at Reston Station. I adore the architecture of that building, and I was excited to get to include its bold, diagonal lines in my photos.
The week I was there the performers were a Latin band with a salsa dance instructor. The weather was beautiful, but it was cool to see that the concerts take place under cover and would be comfortable in rain. Next to the stage and seating area is a small, grassy field where people can sit or run around and play. Reston Station even provides picnic blankets and beach balls to keep it fun for the whole family.
Check out the concert schedule at the Reston Community Center website. With weekly concerts at Reston Station, Lake Anne, and Reston Town Center, there is always top-notch, free entertainment going on in this town.
The Summerbration Concerts take place on Friday evenings at 7pm at Reston Station, at the entrance to the Jahn Building, near the Reston-Wiehle Metro Station. Concerts are free and open to the public.
