I’m honored to be a featured artist at tonight’s annual party hosted by Public Art Reston. They have chosen one of my photos to present at the party as limited edition prints.
In this photo of the Lake Anne Underpass, your eye travels down a footpath past several distinctive sculptures. The trail sits among quiet, lush forest, but overhead a car passes by, reminding us of Reston’s urban surroundings. The quirky concrete sculptures are both playful and austere, much like the rest of the lakefront, brutalist, mid-century modern village of Lake Anne.
With art, nature, village, and city all showcased here, this photo captures a lot of what I love about Reston. I’m so pleased that the people of Public Art Reston think that it represents their mission well. I love what they do to keep our city beautiful and unusual, and it’s an honor to be recognized by them.
If you are local, please consider coming to the Public Art Reston PARty on Thursday, October 18. This photo will be available for sale as a fundraiser. But most importantly, I’d just love to see you there.
You can see more of my art photos of Reston in my Print Shop, along with many other types of photos, including animals, the Outer Banks, the UK, and much more.
