A very happy Ally, frolicking in the snow
December 8, 2009< We’ve accumulated about nine inches of snow over the last three days. The temperature hasn’t gone above 15 or so during that time, so we have no ice and only fluffy powder. When the sun came out this afternoon, I bundled up and took our eager dog into the canyon.

This man was jogging uphill in snowshoes. He appeared to be in his sixties, and he’s much fitter than I am.

The cruel reality of my life is that Ally hates to have her picture taken. As soon as I lift the camera to my face, she will look every other direction but toward me.

When Mike came home from work, he jogged into the canyon to catch up with us. Ally was surprised and thrilled to see him out there.

Later I headed to the Garden of the Gods to see the snow. I’ve never seen it so empty!

Your family will never forget this experience. You are inspirational.

Funny how people say that our pets are lucky to have us. My feeling is we are very lucky to have found such wonderful companions to share our lives with. Ally is certainly precious and the snow brings out the pure joy of her playfulness. Wishing all of you a wonderful life together. How sweet is unconditional love. Cheers!

That%u2019s absolutely GORGEOUS! And Ally is adorable %u2013 what breed is she?

Great job with Ally in these, animals arn’t always super cooperative to be photographed !

Great shots!! You got some great captures of Ally.

great pictures! Unlike Ally, Wrigley always poses for the camera – sometimes I think she hears me turn it on, and gets ready for it!

WOW, now that’s some snow!! It’s beautiful, but I feel so cold just looking at it. Your images really brought me there Charlotte…time for a hot cocoa!!

Ally must be a “Daddy’s Girl”, given she was so excited to see her Daddy (Mike) after he came back from work!

I haven’t seen that much snow since I was seven years old! Anyway, I love the beautiful light and soft colors in these!

Thanks! Ally is a shelter mutt, probably some variant of an Australian shepherd. We’re not sure what else… Rottweiler? Bernese mountain dog? retriever? I just like to think of her as a fluffy dog.

Aww, Ally looks so excited. Great pictures!

So pretty! I love how excited Ally is to see Mike, that is SO cute, haha. The pic of Manitou reminds me of a Thomas Kinkade painting.

I love how much you guys love Ally, and how much she obviously loves you!

Beautiful as always! Now that’s a happy pup! Rory LOVES the snow too!

GORGEOUS. That’s definitely a liberal dusting of snow that you got there. Ally is so precious. I still wanna snuggle her.

Thank you for sharing these pictures. It’s wonderful to see you all so happy, enjoying life.

Besides, if Ally is ever so cute when she’s wet, she looks cute when covered in powdery snow.

I really wanted to take more pictures at the Garden of the Gods, but by the time I got there, it was soooooo painfully cold. I ended up admiring the view from my car window instead. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is so wonderful and precious!
Thank you for sharing these amazing moments! ๐Ÿ™‚

Beautiful. And before I clicked the cut, I was hoping you’d have a snowy picture of the Garden of the Gods!

Once again, your pictures make me yearn to be living back in the Colorado Rockies. ๐Ÿ™
