My photo of Santa is on the cover of this week’s Reston Connection. Hi, Santa!
Every December, Santa visits Lake Anne in true Reston style — by pontoon boat, and his elves accompany him by paddle boards. I love this event so much that I always cheer like a toddler every time Santa’s boat appears in the distance.
Big crowds of Santa’s adoring fans attend every year, and even this year’s cold rain couldn’t keep them away.
After Santa arrives at the Plaza, he sits with each of the children and listens to their tales of happiness and wishes.
Because of the rain, this year he greeted the children inside Reston’s Used Book Shop. The books and fireplace offer such a cozy spot for a photo with the kids’ hero. The best part is that Santa will stay until every child has had a chance to sit with him, and the entire experience is free to the parents.
