Earlier this week I finally met an artist whose work I’ve been admiring for years. The vibrant colors of Marthe McGrath‘s abstract paintings brighten my walks along Lake Anne Plaza, and I’ve often wondered about the artist who creates those lovely pieces. I was delighted when she reached out to me and asked me to take her portraits at her gallery space.
I met with Marthe at Reston Art Gallery and Studios, where she is a resident artist. We surrounded her with her work, while still making her and her personality the focal point of the portraits.
It’s always fun to see how an artist’s personality comes through in her work!
