Mike and me with Ally
      Garden of the Gods
      Photos by Holly Pacione

Over the weekend, my friend Holly Pacione photographed Mike and me with our dog! Holly is a fantastic photographer here in the Springs, and we we are so grateful. Thanks, Holly!

Ally tried to climb up any rock we were sitting on. She likes to be with us. ๐Ÿ™‚

I paused to take a picture of another family, using their camera. Holly grabbed a picture of me doing my thing.

We decided to do my least favorite pose that is oddly very popular among some photographers– the man looking disinterested while the woman is pathetic at his feet. Ha!

But of course this is what we’re really like. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh wow, she really did look a lot like ours. So of course that means that I think Callie was gorgeous. ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually, it’s kind of eerie. Here’s a photo (took a camera phone photo of an old print I had sitting around).

This was right after she’d been to the groomer, she was normally a bit shaggier. Also I don’t think quite full-grown at this point… can’t recall.

I had no idea….at the pound where we got her, they said she was a German Shepherd mix of some sort. I could never quite figure it out, and just called her a Shepherdmutt! She didn’t seem to mind.

Oh how cool! And Callie even sounds like Ally. ๐Ÿ™‚ Do you know what kind of dog Callie was? We’ve been told that Ally is an Aussie shepherd mix, but we don’t know what the other breeds might be.

Nice photos! I used to have a dog named Callie who looked EXACTLY like yours (down to the cute little eyebrows and bushy tail and fur pattern). It’s kinda freaky to look at the photos and feel like I’m seeing my childhood dog! (she passed away a few years ago)

Charlotte, I’m SUCH a fan of your work. It’s so nice to see you on the other side of the lens with your family. Colorado is amazing–what an incredible backdrop!

I’ve been following your blog for a few years and love all your photos but my question is about your backgrounds. My boyfriend and I are from the SF bay area and planning a trip to Colorado. This trip is greatly inspired by all the gorgeous locations of your wedding photos and portraits. So I was just wondering where you would suggest someone visits if they had only had 3 days in Colorado and weren’t too set on what area too visit. Hiking, snowboarding, sledding, museums would be fun but not all are a must.

the man looking disinterested while the woman is pathetic at his feet. Ha!

…next time, pretend to bite his leg. XD

You look very happy and harmonious all three!
      /sorry for my imperfection english;)/

Lol I love the one of you & Mike where he’s “disinterested”. I can’t believe that’s popular! I still hope someday to have you take pictures of me, Jon & our two doxie pups when we’re in Colorado :). That family you took the picture of is lucky! ๐Ÿ™‚

Could not stop laughing at your least favorite pose! ๐Ÿ˜›

it’s hilarious! I love the super serious looks on your faces!

Andrew loves your dog. He saw her and started yelling DOGGY DOGGY! and then wanted to climb in my lap and got mad everytime I scrolled away from the pictures!

      (Amy)

Love that last photo! Really nice!

It’s true — neither of us could keep a straight face during that “least favorite pose”! Next time I’m going to make Mike get down on the floor and beg for me.

My favorite is the third from the bottom. ๐Ÿ™‚ You two are so beautiful! And I wish I could snuggle your dog like you guys do in the pictures! She looks so soft.

My lit professors always refer to this pose as the sturdy oak/clinging vine. How awful!

All the pictures are so sweet

great pictures! i SO agree with you about that pose…i don’t understand why it is so popular right now.

I like that during the “disinterested” pose, Mike can’t even really pull it off! hahaha. He’s definitely not that guy!

Yay! We’re going to do the same thing this spring. Well, we’re having our office manager/associate do a shoot for Christmas cards, but we’re trading with one of my friends in the spring.

in your least favorite pose…you look anything but pathetic, more like a dominatrix, and mike looks like he can just barely hold in his laughter!

I love the next to last picture, where mike is looking at you. you can just see his love for you written all over his face!!

Ha! In that ‘least favorite pose,’ you two could grace the cover of a harlequin romance novel. ๐Ÿ™‚

i wish you to have a baby;–)
