      Me at Lake Tahoe
      April, 2010

Mike and I traveled to Lake Tahoe last weekend for Amanda and Stephen’s wedding, and decided to turn the trip into a mini-vacation. We flew out a couple days early, and splurged on a lovely room at a lakeside resort. We drove all the way around the lake, and enjoyed several stops along the way.My favorite part of the Tahoe area was that it offered the best of all seasons. In one day, we saw people skiing, snowboarding, sledding, sailing, scuba diving, and lounging on the beach making sand castles. It must be a wonderful place to live.

I couldn’t believe how clear the water was. Sometimes I could only see the stones and not the water.

Incline Village had the biggest pine cones I’d ever seen. These two weren’t even the largest we found.

Lounging on this rock was one of my favorite moments of the day. Serene.

We saw this kayaker further down the road, where he stopped for a picnic.

We had lunch at the Riva Grill in South Lake Tahoe, where I drank this fruity concoction that tasted like summer.

Terriffic! Makes me homesick! I can almost feel the breeze and smell the pines.

Great photos, I’ve been there in winter for skiing and summer on honeymoon and its one of the nicest parts of the US in my opinion, your photos bring back great memories! Love the “lounging on the rock” photo!

      I’m glad you enjoyed them!

I used my Canon 16-35 lens for the Sand Harbor Beach photo, probably at 16mm. 🙂

I live in Reno and it’s been awhile since I’ve actually been at the lake. These pictures inspire me to go back up there and start shooting again. Thank you 🙂

As a hobbyist photographer, your photos always blow me away. May I ask what the focal length for the Sand Harbor Beach picture is?

Much farther south in CA where I grew up, we had pinecones called “widowmakers” because they were seriously so large and heavy that they could, in theory, kill you if they hit you in the head!

Amazing photos Charlotte! This really makes me want to go there for a visit!

Beautiful place. Nice shots. Recently, I saw this place on some other blog as well I think, the photographer visited the place before a shoot I think.
