We photographed this fun family in their ultra-cool neighborhood of LoDo last week. It was their daughter’s first birthday, so they decided to celebrate with a portrait shoot. Mike and I loved exploring this urban area with them, which was a fun change of pace from our more typical mountain settings. We started out in their fabulous loft condo, and then wandered through the streets and parks nearby. These guys were so much fun, and I loved how they were up for anything!
This was a candid moment that I managed to capture when I wasn’t expecting it. He just ran up to greet them like that.

One of my favorites
This was just a funny moment… This dog and its owner wandered over to the baby while we were taking pictures. The owner held up a doggie treat to encourage the dog to sit still for a photo. I laughed when both of them reached for the treat!
These guys were total rock stars. Here they were singing a hilarious song they had written for the baby.

Those two made me laugh, just the expressions and everything. 🙂 They seem like such a fun family.

It’s so pretty out there, and your pictures always make me want to visit the west.
Also, Rich and I have songs for all of our animals; it can only get worse when the babies come.

What a fun family! I love the one after the candids because it seems to showcase all of their personalities, esp. with the baby’s nose wrinkled up. The last is my favorite though.

A friend told me to add your journal, and I’m glad I did. I’m a very amateur photographer–just starting out doing a few jobs–and I love seeing other peoples’ work. I’ve mostly done portraits of friends and their pets, and am still learning my way around a lot of the technical aspects of photography, so I’m sure your journal will be inspiring for me!
