Do you remember this fun couple? We decided to recreate their engagement portrait! Johan cracks me up! Grace and Johan got married at the Air Force Academy chapel last month on a perfect, late-summer day. I love shooting at the AFA chapel; its dramatic architecture and colors are a photographer’s dream. In fact, everything about this day was picture-perfect, from Grace’s designer gown to their families’ traditional Korean costumes. It was a gorgeous wedding.

My talented friend Tamera Goldsmith second-shot this wedding with me. Mike has been off his feet for a few weeks, due to a soccer injury. I hope he feels better soon! Tamera, thanks so much!

Tamera and I met Johan at the chapel that morning. He was busy making last-minute planning phone calls.

Meanwhile, Grace was in a nearby building, getting ready.

I love how this photo features the plane Johan flew as an AFA student, and also Grace’s fabulous gown.

They had a bright, sunny day for their wedding!

Somehow Grace’s wedding ring didn’t make it to the church, so her bridesmaid let Grace borrow her ring!

I walked past Grace as she was giving a private message to Johan on the videographer’s camera.
She looked so beautiful in the window light that I had to take a quick picture.

Later in the evening, Mike and I drove up to Denver to meet with Grace and Johan and their friends at a bar. Johan’s new brother-in-law (to be) owns the Pour House Pub in downtown Denver, and they had a great party on its rooftop patio.

You’ve outdone yourself here. The little girl peeking out is fantastic.

      I likes!

I have to get a fisheye lens 😉

Absolutely fantastic series of shots. I think this shoot is one of my favourites from your always-fab shoots.

      charlotte, wonderful!

they definately have a different feel to some of the photos, probably because of the different second shooter?

i’ve seen several of your weddings at this location. i’m curious, how are you able to continue to come up with new & fresh ideas in a location you’ve been to several times? i imagine, in a way it must be nice because you know what to expect of the venue’s lighting, sweet spots, etc…

      what a stunning dress.

my fav shot is the one of grace, bending down while fixing her shoe or something of the sort.

Oh my goodness. Absolutely amazing photos. The bride and groom and their families look like models and the location has such incredible lines and….I could go on and on. I especially love the first photo. I love the way the stream of light is pointing right at them.

      Lovely photos!

Other than that: OH, MY GOD! IT’S THE SPACESHIP CHAPEL! 😛

That dress is unbelievably beautiful. That picture of her clutching the train is really powerful and shows off the fabric so well.

      Beautiful wedding. Great pictres!

I love how her veil is flipping up as he jumps over here. These are stunning.

Amazing as always! I love her bouquet and that dress was perfect for her.

      The jumping shot is perfect!

oh wow! That wide angle lens is amazing in the Air Force Chapel. And what a beautiful wedding. I love that they recreated that awesome engagement shot!

Amazing photos, as usual! The sunset was beautiful. A beautiful end to a beautiful day!

This is probably my favorite set of pictures, ever. I love the building they were in, I absolutely LOVE her dress and she was just absolutely gorgeous.
