Last fall I visited sweet baby Oliver for a documentary photo session in his home. He was only four months old at the time, and now he is already celebrating his first birthday. I was delighted when his parents invited me back to photograph his first birthday party.
Parents Dana and Mike chose another documentary session for this party, so I took a primarily photojournalistic, candid approach to the photos. I love photographing real moments and telling families’ stories, and I hope little Oliver and his family will love these looking back on these moments when he’s all grown up.
It was hilarious to see the dog try to clean up the birthday cake!
Happy birthday, sweet Oliver. I have loved seeing you grow over the past year.
