Brandon and Stephanie
Lower Lake Ranch
Pine, Colorado
August 8, 2009
Stephanie and Brandon are a laid-back couple from Alaska who love the outdoors and a good party. Their wedding delivered both perfectly. They got married at Lower Lake Ranch, which is a mountain lodge with a lake and great views of the mountains. Brandon is a wedding videographer, so the photography was really important to him. It’s uncommon to have a groom who loves being photographed as much as he did, so I had such a good time with these guys. My good friend Brad Walters photographed this wedding with me, and he went far above and beyond to help with everything I needed. Thanks, Brad!
Congratulations, Brandon and Stephanie! Thanks for asking me to do this for you. I know how important it is to you!
Our day began in a field in Littleton, where Brandon and his friends were partying in their RV.
Brandon, looking cool.

They decided that they were such rock stars that they needed to form a band. They named it Snake Disco.
They taught me the Alaska gang sign. (Their fingers are shaped like the state.)
I left Brad to hang with the guys, and headed to beautiful Lower Lake Ranch.
Stephanie and her sisters got ready in the bridal suite there.
Adorable Deborah
The ladies did a little partying of their own.

Brandon and his mother left roses on the seats designated for his grandfather and a close family friend, both of whom recently passed away. (Photo by Brad)

The ceremony took place next to a mountain stream, under a blue Colorado sky.
During the group portraits, the guys decided to get in a brawl.
Then they behaved for me for a moment.
After the portraits, the venue owners’ granddaughter came to pick up the lovebirds and take them to the reception.

At the end of the night, Brandon requested a photo of the two of them under the night sky. I asked them to stand as still as they could for this photo, which was lit by the porch lights nearby. I took this photo at 2500 ISO with my new Canon 5D MkII. I love that camera!

That last one was SO WORTH the 13 seconds!!!
Wow that last picture is amazing. (The rest of them too! but that last one is special)
those two are C-U-T-E CUTE!!!! and the pictures are absolutely amazing…
I am SO jealous of your new 5D. I lust to own that camera! I’m not of the means, so I’m trying to collect lenses first 😉
Beautiful shots, as always!
The clouds in that last photo are insane! The one of them on the dock under the cliff is absolutely lovely. I love CO 🙂
What a beautiful, FUN couple! I love the shots of the groom and his grandmother dancing, and that last photo is breathtaking.
Those photos are absolutely lovely.
My friend recently got married, and her photographer turned out to be horrible. All the pictures looked like they were taken a with a pocket 35mm, and she looked shiny in all of them. Not only that, but the “editing” they did on them was silly… spot B&W that left random things like glasses, flowers, and shadows in color, and the actual subjects of the photos in black and white. It was awful. =\
… and then I realized that I’ve been spoiled by your beautiful photos. My standards have been skewed by your unique vision in the art of taking pictures. 🙂
the last photo is absolutely intense. the one of Brad with his mother and the roses is so emotional it put tears in my eyes. I love them on the dock and it looks like it would’ve been a lot of fun to be there! wonderful pictures, Charlotte. You are amazing!
Gorgeous Charlotte! What an awesome location. I want to go there with Matt!
Jeez, 2500 ISO on my camera would be like a noise party. Awesome night shot! 🙂 (The other ones are knock outs too, but I’m seriously impressed!)
🙂
These are sensational! Excellent job, as always, Charlotte! *and Brad*
That picture of Brandon and his mother is very touching!
the one of their first kiss is HOT. wowzer!
ok…so the photo of Brandon and his mother place roses on designated chairs for his grandfather and a close family friend has me bawling my eyes out. What a beautiful, touching moment and to capture that on film….kudos to Brad.
I also absolutely love the photo of them on the dock. Stunning.
These are fantastic. I had a good giggle at the swing one! It’s so nice when one can have a wedding outdoors because the weather is cooperating.
Oh shoot, you’re right! Thanks for letting me know. I’ll go redo them.
OH MY GOODNESS….
ok, i seriously MUST have a photo like the last one if i ever get married!!!!
Oh, hey, your little logo is not on these photos.
I have to second this comment. The combination of the clouds and the stars make a stunning photo.
They are all gorgeous, as always, but that last one is a knockout. Thumbs up!

I agree with SO many of these comments!
Their first kiss IS hot.
And that final shot..my goodness. I love that you give us the specifics of the shot – it definitely helps those of us just getting into the business.
Beautiful work, as always.
Charlotte – Amazing as always!!
Charlotte, that last photo that Brandon requested…OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING!!! I love how he and his friends got into the photo shoot and just had a good time! Definitely pictures I’d cherish!
