This week I returned to the annual Best of Reston gala at the Hyatt Regency Reston, to photograph it for Reston Community Center. Locals lovingly refer to this event as the “Reston Prom,” because it brings out hundreds of involved community members, all dressed in their finest.
Best of Reston is a beloved tradition that honors individuals and groups with awards for their volunteer service. The gala’s tickets, donations, and auctions raise money for Cornerstones, a local volunteer organization that assists disadvantaged community members. This year’s Best of Reston raised over $500,000 to support Cornerstones.
Every year I’m inspired by the selfless volunteer work done by the Best of Reston honorees. I’m proud and grateful to live in such a caring community!
