What an awesome picture! I’d like to send out a big thank you to Jessica’s mother for taking some great candids of our bridal session. I didn’t want to carry more than one camera into the water, so I asked her if she could hold my second camera for me. Since I know that she’s a gifted photographer, I asked if she would be willing to take some pictures of the three of us in action. The pictures are fantastic!

As you can see, I got almost as wet as Jessica did! The best camera angles were right at the water level, so I jumped on in. Somehow I never dropped the camera. πŸ˜‰ Tom went in the water, too! That’s Tom Sanderson, my new friend who offered to drive all the way from Williamsburg at the last minute to help with this photo shot. Thanks so much Tom!

Here she’s throwing rose petals at me.

I didn’t realize at the time that my shirt was floating up so much.

Jessica looks really short in this one.

      Hilarious! Love it.

There’s Jessica’s mother’s best friend in the background. This was a big team effort!

At the end of the shoot. You can’t really tell here how wet we are, but we were soaked. Fantastic!

LoL- you are right! I have a wireless trigger for my own camera, but before seeing your shots, hadn’t considered using it for my flash off camera- i’m going to give it a try! thank you. πŸ™‚

Is it true that ravaging the dress after the wedding is the norm now? Here in the Philippines a couple of wedding photographers have been starting to do that too. Mostly they do it at the beach too πŸ™‚

But, great photos as usual πŸ˜‰

Bravo to you! It’s worth the risk, if you ask me. πŸ™‚

Thanks for that! I’m totally insane, but I love every minute of it. πŸ™‚

Definitely find someone else to wear it if you can. A gown shouldn’t be wasted. πŸ™‚

I love behind-the-scenes photos, too! It’s cool to have pictures of yourself at work. Most people don’t have cameras where they work!

If I did a shoot like this in the cold lakes of Colorado, it would be required. πŸ˜‰

You and me both, and I haven’t even had a baby. πŸ˜‰

I’d like to see a picture of that! I do crazy stuff like that all the time. I get really messy at weddings, unfortunately, for that very reason. But I agree… anything for the shot!

I’m insane! But what fun is a fearless bride if the photographer is afraid? πŸ˜‰

Yes, the flash that Tom was holding was triggered from my camera’s transmitter. The umbrella set-up was another remote-triggered flash.

Thanks! I used a variety of lenses that day, but I think I primarily used the 70-200 and 16-35. Thank god neither fell in the water!

Yeah, these photo shoots are more for the brides than their mothers, for that very reason. πŸ˜‰ But Jessica’s mother joined us on this shoot, and she was just as cool as her daughter!

Of course I got in the water! Jessica and I were in it together. πŸ™‚

Jessica is awesome… I’m glad you’ve enjoyed her photos!

I took my camera out into the surf to get the last round of pics of my boy. I have NEVER taken my camera into the surf before; but since it is semi broken right now… big deal. I was pretty pleased with the results, but cannot wait to to do more.

Love the concept. Nice shoot. Always love your stuff. I am from MD, but not familiar with California, MD.

      Cheers

awesome!! what great behind the scences

      what a commited photographer!
you’re absolutely crazy but you’re the best wedding photographer I know πŸ™‚

AWESOME! If only i was staying married, i’d love to do somethign like this with my gown! As it is, it’s just taking up space, not sure yet what to do with it. πŸ˜› (I’ve actually been trying to get like-sized friends to wear it so i can practice taking bride pictures!) πŸ˜›

those are TOO cool! you should always have a team photographing you in action!!

are you saying that the divers’ suit should be required?

Oh my god. I would SO do that if my dress fit. Hah.I guess it’s something you have to do before you gain Happy Married Weight. And Baby Weight.

      Love it! πŸ™‚

As a mad shutterbug myself, I love the way you show some of the stuff that’s going on behind the camera to get those pictures.

The photographer’s creed: Anything for the shot!

I’ve done silly things like be sprawled out prone on the shoulder of a highway twisting through the Colorado mountains to get a up-close-and-personal shot of some wildflowers growing along the side of the road… I’ll bet that would make for a funny picture! πŸ™‚

how you have the balls to take your camera into the water! πŸ˜€ (i don’t – wet hands scare me)

these are fantastic! did you have you flash that tom was holding triggered from your camera? and your umbrella set up- strobe or flash?

lovely of you to share these images with us all! keep up the stunning work! πŸ™‚

hah! Fantastic! I love the behind the scene look. What lens were you using that day? And thank goodness for insurance, eh? Those just in casers are wonderful!

Stop it! You are In The Water! Of course you are!!

Oh I love you so much Charlotte, you are such a fun person!

And no wonder Jessica’s mom takes great candids, look at the bloomin’ awesome daughter she raised. πŸ™‚

Jessica is my total all time favorite. I love her!!

These are so great! It looks like everyone had a lot of fun.
