Becky and Jer
      Estes Park, Colorado
      September 20, 2007

Jer and Becky have such a sweet story. They have known each other since they were kids, and they recently reunited after many years apart. They soon realized that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. They got married last Thursday in a small, outdoor ceremony at Rocky Mountain National Park. Becky’s daughter Andrea, and Mike and I were the only guests. It was the smallest wedding we’d ever photographed, and we loved how personal and intimate the whole day was. Becky and Jer will have a larger wedding next September with their families and friends. I love the idea of having two weddings, one small and intimate, and one large and festive.

EDIT: I just found out that today is Becky’s birthday! Happy birthday, Becky!

They got ready at the YMCA of the Rockies. I’d never been to a YMCA before, and it was fun!

Andrea, with a necklace that her new step-father gave her.

Becky, looking beautiful while waiting to see Jer.

Andrea and I had a blast last year during her senior portrait session.

They got married under some trees in the park, with a view of Longs Peak behind them.

Jer, saying his vows, while Andrea wipes a tear

I got to be a witness! I’d never done that before.

After the ceremony, we headed to the YMCA stables to visit the horses.

I turned around and saw this sweet moment between mother and daughter.

In lieu of wedding cake, Jer and Becky chose ice cream! We went to an ice cream parlor in downtown Estes.

Congratulations, Becky and Jer! Thanks so much for inviting Mike and me to join the three of you that day!

Oh my goodness! I have chills (and I have a heater blowing right on me)! This is definitely one of the most touching and beautiful weddings I’ve seen you photograph, Charlotte!

Wow, what a beautiful bride! Love the small wedding feel, too–so much more romantic and more intimate than a huge gathering, imho.

So true… this day was just right for all three of them. It was great to be a part of it.

Ice cream in Estes Park sounds like a perfect way to spend a ditch day. 🙂

I’m so glad you enjoyed seeing their tiny and perfect wedding celebration. I loved it, too.

Thanks for such a thoughtful comment. It’s wonderful to know that you’ve enjoyed these glimpses into people’s lives. The best compliment I can get is that my photos have helped you learn about and care for my clients.

Actually I don’t use filters. Most of the colors you see are due to my quest for good light and crisp exposures. I often add a little pop to the photos with curves in Photoshop, or contrast adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw.

      Amazing photos, Charlotte and Mike.

And you know, I think I was at that ice cream parlor my senior year in high school. My friends and I went to Estes Park for senior ditch day, and we had stopped and got ice cream up there on the way home, it may have been that one.

Oh, I love the picture through the chair. Simply lovely and beautiful photos.

I was especially moved by this set of pictures! Beautiful bride, groom, and daughter.

      what a beautiful wedding.

i love how simplistic the ritual was. and i love couples with a story. it gives me hope to see how people out there go through everything and still manage to find their way back to one another.

      :]

thank you so much for constantly sharing these little snapshots with us. we are lucky to have been part of small, precious moments through your lenses. even though we weren’t there to witness the actual occasion, and all.

looking fwd to more pictures in the future.

I completely love how small their wedding actually was…there is something about it that makes it seem so real, so romantic and so true to the heart!

how do u get such vivid colors?

      filters or anything?

i am just wondering bc it seems like you always have perfect exposure and was just wondering what little things you do

      thanks

I don’t usually comment on your pictures (even though all of them are amazing), but these pictures really touched me, I love the idea of a small wedding like that, it is so intimate for the 3 of them. I’m in Los Angeles and I have actually been to Estes Park, and I have to say that is just a beautiful place to get married, Congratulations to them…

The one where Jer is reading his vows, and Andrea is wiping her tear made me get all sorts of teary eyed. What an emotional photo. The look on Becky’s face says it all.

Loving the chair heart in the second-to-last photo. 🙂

How beautiful! I’m really moved by all of these pictures. I especially love how happy the daughter looks….I think they’re going to be a happy family.

The one where Andrea is in the background smiling made me tear up! Also, Becky’s necklace is so cool! What a sweet wedding, congrats to them.
