I love Colorado weddings! Amy and Matt got married on top of a mountain at Keystone resort, and we all traveled there by ski gondola. I had so much fun getting there that I was almost giddy by the time I got to the venue.

Matt has been skiing in Keystone for years, and this resort is really important to him. Their wedding was perfect for them, with great weather, and outdoor ceremony, and a view of the mountains. I love it when couples plan weddings that really say a lot about their personalities. This one was fun!

Congratulations, Amy and Matt. We had a blast, and hope that you did, too!

The view from their venue, Timber Ridge

Their cake was gorgeous, and it tasted as good as it looked!

The ringbearer was an adorable ball of energy, who kept asking people to take his picture.

I like this photo, because Amy was posing for some fun pictures just before the ceremony, and she didn’t realize that I included Matt in this one as he hurried into the next room. They didn’t see each other before the ceremony, and neither of them knew that the other one was just on the other side of that small wall. I like the feeling of danger and anticipation here.

On her way to the ceremony. I love the Cinderella feel to this one.

The ringbearer, walking back down the aisle after giving the rings to Matt.

      Amy’s reaction to seeing Matt

Matt’s reaction is one that any bride would dream of. I loved this moment, and cried myself.

Matt wipes a tear as Amy says her vows.

Mike always gets amazing close-ups during ceremonies.

After the ceremony, we walked down the hill a bit, to have a beautiful background
for the portraits. Matt carried his new wife down the hill.

I love the moments that Mike witnesses while I’m busy taking group portraits.

      These guys are just adorable.

      First dance

Matt and Amy were so emotional and beautiful to photograph.

They had a delicious brunch buffet. Here the cook is flipping my omelet.

We took tons of pictures of them smashing the cake, but this one of Mike’s is my
favorite, because you can see pieces of cake flying out of Amy’s hand.

I liked this sweet moment between Matt and his mom.

Matt’s brother, giving the best man toast.

After the festivities ended, Matt and Amy changed clothes, said goodbye, and traveled back down the mountain.

Hi, I first saw your blog when my friend Caitlin Felker (roommate at UVA) showed me the pictures you took of UVa after the VT tragedy. I stop by from time to time to see other work you do and you’re a great photographer! I was actually wondering, though, if you know where Amy got her wedding dress from? It’s really gorgeous! Thanks, Sarah

Thanks for allowing us to enjoy the wedding even though we were unable to attend. Congratulations to Amy and Matt! Jordans

Just saw your photos in another community, and I’m blown away! I’m an amateur photographer myself, just shot my first wedding a couple months ago. But wow… your photos are gorgeous!

I’m actually looking to move to Colorado a year from now, and if/when I get married, I think I know who will be doing my photography!

I found your blog randomly by clicking around in livejournal and I couldn’t tear myself away from your amazing work. You really do a wonderful job of capturing the emotions of the moments you are saving forever. I hope you don’t mind but I’ve added you as a friend so I can see updates of your great work.

i just wanted to let you know that your amazing at what you do, and i just saw your recent post in the weddings thing.. and you captured some amazing moments, some pictures even made me tear up… so I just thought I would let you know you really really captured the feeling in that day, and you are amazing at what you do. Keep it up.

      That’s so nice, thanks! 🙂

      Woohoo, babies!

I heard from Christy that you guys got a house, congrats! I haven’t been following LJ lately, so I’ve been out of the loop. Hope you’ll love it!

      awesome pics as always!

i need to start having some babies so i have a good reason to hire you again!!!!!

I’m incredibly impressed by your photography! Your focus is always so spot-on- It’s amazing!

There are a thousand and one things I could comment on and appreciate about your photography, but I’m fairly sure that your other “fans” have already touched on them all.

      Whoops! I wasn’t signed in!

You’ve probably got a lot of these comments recently but I just wanted to say your photography blows me away. I’ve literally spent the past two afternoons at work going through your blog entries and I cannot count the amount of times I’ve had tears in my eyes! Even my boyfriend was impressed, and he’s tough to please as far as photography goes.

I hope you don’t mind if I add you – it will make my day each time a new entry shows up on my friends page.

Oh and if you happen to wander into Texas in like, four years.. let me know. 😀

Your photography amazes me. As do all these weddings! They’re all so pretty!
I love photography myself, although I’m an amateur and don’t know much about technicalities. I just point and click.
I’m about to start school for graphic design and hope to take some photography classes on the side, so your work is very inspiring.

I’ve been “lurking” for a while now; I really love your beautiful photography! Do you mind if I add you?

These are some of the most gorgeous photographs I’ve ever seen. I hope you don’t mind me friending you! I’d love to see more of your pictures in my friends list.

      thanks A LOT 🙂

Hi there! We use many different lenses throughout a wedding, but my favorite wide angle lens is the 16-35mm f2.8 on a full-frame Canon 5D.

      hi!
I wanted to ask what kind of glass you use to shoot those pics? I am looking currently for a wide angle glass, but i dont know what to think of and which one to choose (there is a wide range of different wide angles).

Hi Lorena! You’re very welcome to add me, thanks! It’s great to meet you 🙂

      Re: WowW!

We’d love to go to Sweden someday! We’ve heard such great things about the place. 🙂

Nope, haven’t finished it yet, but I’m eager to do so! This is such a busy time of year for me that I just don’t have much time to curl up with a good book. :-\ Hopefully I’ll have in done in a week or so.

Thanks! We love photos like those, too. I think they really capture the feel of the day.

That’s definitely all right, thanks! It’s great to meet you. 🙂

That’s great to hear, thanks! I hope you tune in for more photos in the future!

Actually I checked the Keystone website, and it looks like the Alpenglow is a different venue, sorry!

Haha! I’m sure Matt will get a kick out of this comment! 🙂

lol! That’s pretty evil! 😉 But what a gem when you get to the top. I’ll definitely have to go back and try the fondue sometime; it sounds like a lot of fun.

Mike is really good! He wasn’t a photographer before we met, but he was an engineer working with high-tech digital cameras used in robotics. So he has always been a whiz at the technical side of this business. He has a very artistic side that he didn’t get to express much in his career, so he asked if he could start taking photographs with me… he turned out to be great at it!

I was wondering about that, it looked sort of familiar. Though I was there in the winter, and when it’s a fondue restaurant the seating is all on these long wooden tables & benches. So you sit with random people- it’s fun!

My sister scared me to death on the gondola ride up, because it was all dark and desolate and she told ghost stories and then started shaking the thing. Meanie!

Thanks, Melissa. The best part is how much fun we have shooting together.

Oh cool! Actually I think this was the fondue restaurant! I’m not positive, but I think when the restaurant is open to guests, it’s a fondue place.

Thanks so much… I’m glad to hear it. 🙂

      Thanks so much!

We just celebrated our second anniversary, and I still haven’t finished posting my photos from our wedding! One of these days I’ll finish the series. 😉

      your photographs move me 🙂

Wow, you and your husband are wonderful photographers! I hope it’s ok if I add you. I love photography and I hope to become as wonderful as you two one day.
      -Lorena

      WowW!

These photos took my breath away! Your wedding pics are the best I’ve ever seen! Let me know if ever you’ll be in Sweden!

p.s..After seeing these photos, I feel I got ripped off by our wedding photographers!!! hahaha!

Such a gorgeous couple, wedding, venue, and photos! Lovely job, Charlotte and Mike.

what a beautiful wedding! Bravo Charlotte and Mike (as always)!

Great job Charlotte! I can’t wait to be doing this with my husband!!! I hope we can do as well as you guys do!

      Have you finished Deathly Hallows?

I totally agree! You guys have caught some amazing moments. I wanted to cry seeing the groom’s reaction myself!! 🙂

AMAZING. I just love these & am so impressed! (Oh, how I wish I could’ve had you for my photographer when I got married 😉

I saw your wonderful, wonderful photos in “real life wedding” & looked through your LJ & decided to add you. Hope, that´s allright ?!

And sorry for my grappy english…it´s some years ago I´ve spoken or written it by myself.

I’ve seriously found my new favorite photographers. Your photos are amazing! I’m in awe and I can’t wait to see more of your pieces, it’s simply.. just.. awesome. Lol.

      nice…

      nice shade of red..
      nice wedding gown…
and as always nice shots! Congrats! 🙂

Oh and some of the inside photos look familiar to me too.

Cool, if it is the same place.

Charlotte – Do you happen to know if that used to be the Alpenglow? If so, that’s where my best friend from child-hood was married in 1995. Yep, had to take the gondola up and the outside photos of the building look the same.

If I had a scanner, which I don’t, I would scan them to compare. 😉

      amazing photos, as per usual.

matt is a stone cold hottie! I love me some boys in glasses.

I love every single picture. I think that part of that has to do with that I love all of their choices, too, but this one is… wow. So well done.

wow. wow. I love everything about these. I love the location, the flowers, the dresses. I love the details you manage to capture so perfectly.

And I am really impressed with Mike’s photos…was he a photographer before he met you? He’s as impressive as you are.

Fantastic job, kids! I’m amazed again! They -are- adorable!

And now I really want an omelet.

Charlotte, these photos are stunning. You and Mike are an amazing team.

gorgeous couple & venue & photos! they really are so adorable. and I love keystone. my sister used to work there. I remember taking the gondola up to the fondue place, which must have been nearby.

      i LOVE your photos!

thanks for the add. your photos inspire me:)

awww most of your pictures scream “awww” and “omg, i wanna get married now” (for those who aren’t married yet i suppose) but this one seems to have more of a fairy tale aura than the rest. Maybe it’s the venue 🙂 I like your photos A LOT, they have this incredible heartwarming factor in them.

i finally looked at your own wedding photos and read your story; was so cute and your wedding looked awesome!

i am continuously amazed by your photography. great job charlotte and mike!
