Spinney Mountain Park
      November 28, 2008

We woke up on Friday to a fresh layer of snow, so Mike and I decided to head into the mountains and enjoy the winter landscape. We headed to Spinney Mountain Reservoir in South Park. We’re dogsitting our friend’s border collie, so we packed up Ally and Idgi and took them along for a snowy romp by the lake.

      Our houseguest, Idgi

The water was crispy! Dogs are crazy.

Idgi found this treasure, and thus began the Dog Battle for the Stick.

You can see Ally sneaking up on Idgi when she sees that fantastic stick.
Idgi wanted to play fetch with it, but Ally wanted to eat it.

She just accepted it and ran off to find a new stick. She’s obsessive like that!

      LOL! What did Idgi do?!

Ally won. Ally always wins between those two. πŸ˜‰

The funniest moment of the day was one I missed with my camera. Earlier in the day, Ally got so tired of Idgi trying to play fetch ALL THE TIME, that Ally stole Idgi’s stick and threw it in the lake. Priceless.

Ha! Thanks! I love that hat, too. I got it a couple weeks ago at REI. Mike laughs every time I comment on the cuteness of my own hat.

Thanks so much! I think I should get around to updating my store!

That’s so nice of you… yes, they are both highly intelligent dogs, and very loving, too.

It was even better in person! It’s so beautiful out there.

Dogs make life so good… I hope you can have one someday!

The pooches have a love/hate thing going on. They spend so much time together, and yet they don’t seem to have much in common!

That region (South Park) is also a great place to see antelope, buffalo, and birds. Sometimes I watch the animals on the prairie and can’t believe how beautiful the world is.

It was surprisingly comfortable out there, but that water must have been COLD.

I’m glad you think so, because we’re sort of doggie dorks. πŸ˜‰ I love to plan things that I know will make the dog happy — it’s completely rewarding to see her like that.

      Beautiful photos!

Wow, that first photo is breathtaking!

These are so, so great. People who plan recreational activities to involve their dogs are my favorite. You guys are awesome. Come to Northern New York, and bring your canine! πŸ™‚

I love your pictures, esp of the paint horses, running wild and free. And of course the dogs playing.
