Colorado Springs sunset
      Sunset over downtown Colorado Springs
      July, 2009

Here’s another miscellaneous photo from the summer. It was the day that I received my new Canon 5D MarkII camera, and Mike and I had taken it with us when we went out to eat, to test it out. After dinner, we were walking downtown when the sky began to glow with a fiery sunset. People with cameras filled the sidewalk, trying to capture this remarkable view. If I hadn’t bought new equipment that day, I wouldn’t have had a camera with me that night. I’m glad I did.

My boss just bought that camera, so now I have his canon 1d mk2 which to me is amazing! x

I hadn’t noticed how the headlights look like the glowing eyes of monsters… cool!

Oh gosh, I own lots of bodies and lenses. Maybe seven bodies and ten lenses? And that doesn’t include my old film equipment.

Spooky! Especially with the headlights looking like eyes of night creatures. (And the hellish color juxtaposed with the church- reminiscent of the horrid “demons vs. angels” fiction my fundamentalist mother used to read me. Gah, sorry that’s probably TMI?)

Random Question: How many bodies and lenses do you own in total?

      The photo is spectacular!

I love the colors and the silhouette of the church.

There really is a big difference between the 5D and less expensive models. I switched to the original 5D in 2006, and haven’t been able to go back since. The Mark II is very similar to the original, but with much higher ISO capability, and a few other features I really like, such as a self-cleaning sensor. Great stuff.

That is amazing. It looks like the sky is on fire.

I’ve heard that the 5D is one of those “never go back” cameras. That once you have one, you’ll never go back to the lesser models. How are you liking it? Do you see a huge difference between it and some of the other cameras you use?

It looks so beautiful but almost unnatural, like there was a fire or a bombing in the city.

      That’s simply breathtaking, Charlotte. 🙂
