Sarah, Brad, and Isaac
Colorado Springs
April 24, 2009
You might remember the photos that I posted from my friend Sarah’s first ultrasound a couple months ago. She and Brad are expecting their second child, and they’ve invited me to share in the experiences of seeing their little one growing. It’s truly an honor to be there when they see the baby.
I took these photos like a fly on the wall, with just a couple fast lenses and no flash. I love these photos because they are 100% candid and so full of love and emotion. Thank you very much, Sarah and Brad, for asking me to be there with you.
You can learn more about Laura Luckett, their midwife, here: http://www.babysbreathmidwifery.com
Arriving at the midwife’s office. This was the appointment that Sarah had been eagerly anticipating for weeks — the day they would learn the baby’s sex. Sarah wore pink in honor of the event; Brad wore blue.
The baby was healthy and beautiful. Laura, the midwife, was patiently waiting for the baby to reveal his or her sex, but the little one didn’t feel like cooperating that day.
Laura finally told Sarah that they’d have to wait a couple more weeks and try again later.
Sarah kept a smile on her face…
… but she was disappointed.
The best things in life are worth waiting for.

Charlotte, you rock! I guess you’ll have to come to the next one since all your blog fans want to know the outcome! LOL Thanks agin for being there and being such a wonderful friend to our family! We love you to pieces!
Sarah
yay for midwives!
ooh, keep posting the outcome, Charlotte! now I want to know what they’re having! way to go creating excitement on your blog, lol.
BEAUTIFUL! 🙂
I’m glad that the amount of love comes out so wonderfully here. I think my favorites are the ones where Brad is showing their son what the baby will look like. I’ve never seen dolls like that. They’re neat.
I’m not sure I’d want to know the sex of my baby before it’s born, only that it was healthy, and had ten fingers, ten toes, and everything else coming to it.
But, to each their own. 🙂
omg, their son is too cute!
Very nice pictures.
I’ll add you, if you don’t mind.
I haven’t posted in a while since it’s nearing the end of the school year, but I hope to soon.
I’m looking to get into your line of work, so watching your shots and maybe dialogging will be very helpful to me (I live in IL so you’re not training any competition 😉
I hope this is ok! Have a good day.
