I’ve been to a pay-to-pick sunflower field in Virginia, but it was crowded and expensive. I’ve stood outside a sunflower farm in North Dakota, but it wasn’t open to the public. So when I went to the McKee-Beshers fields in Maryland, I was overjoyed to be able to stroll freely through the vast expanses of sunflowers.
These fields are maintained by the state of Maryland and are free to the public. They bloom in mid-July, so now is the time to go. You won’t regret it!
