My cousin, Colonel Heather Carlisle, made history last week when she became the commander of the 596th Transportation Brigade at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point in North Carolina. She is the first woman to serve in that role.

Our whole extended family traveled to Southport, NC last week to support Heather during the Change of Command ceremony and celebration. My kids are so lucky to have a role model like her in their lives, and the army is lucky to have her as one of their leaders.
