Roger
1999-2008
Roger, my beloved cat of nine years, died in his sleep last night. He’s been sick for a long time, so it wasn’t entirely unexpected, but still I’m heartbroken today. It hurts so much to lose him. I hope he’s at peace now, after a long struggle with diabetes. He was my little angel, and I’m going to miss him.

I am so sorry. I would have said so sooner, but I just saw. I know what it is like, but as you said, it was not unexpected (that, would have been worse). Our pets are like our children expect that they are always dependent on us throughout their lives (some kids are that way too, 45 years old and still living at home). He was blessed to be with you and the reverse was true too.

Roger looks so much like my Nadine. She is 16 years old and still looks like a 3 year old. She is without a doubt MY cat. She will come to me over anyone else or even food. My other cat Ozgur died last year. He was the same age. My 6 yr. old boy still has bouts of crying over his lost friend. I posted a photo in his room to help make him feel better. He has been worried that Nadine will die soon. 16 is pretty old for a cat.
I will be very lonesome when she goes. It is only a matter of time. She is the only one (aside from my 2 yr old and Playstation2) that thinks I can sing.

As sad as it is to lose Roger, it’s probably worse because it happened so close to Mother’s Day.
Roger won’t be able to be extra-nice to you a week from Sunday because he knew that it was Mother’s Day. Nor will he be able to be extra-nice to Mike on June 15th because he knew it was Farther’s Day.
Roger thought you were his Mommy and Mike was his Daddy (as Ally and Janie think you’re their parents).
I’ll never forget how he and Janie once went after your Angel Food cake. The photos brought a smile to my face!

Thanks everyone, its a sad day. Even the dog is anxious, she doesn’t understand yet, but she knows that we’re sad. His sister also isn’t sure whats going on, so we’re keeping an eye on her today – not sure what to expect.
I guess Roger is in cat heaven, chasing mice and birds. Which, I guess, is mouse and bird hell? Not sure how a mouse can be evil enough, so Char thinks it’ll be mouse and bird simulations instead.

I’m so sorry. I had to put my 15 year old cat down last summer and it still hurts a lot. I wouldn’t wish that feeling on anyone. I’m sure you and Mike gave him an amazing home and lots of love.
