Brian and Leslie
Denver Art Museum
July 25, 2009
Leslie and Brian got married last weekend at the spectacular Denver Art Museum. The museum’s contemporary setting was a great choice for such a stylish and urban couple. You might remember Leslie and Brian from their engagement portraits in downtown Denver last month. Their wedding was just as chic and fashionable as they are, with a beautifully executed green and brown color scheme and lots of pretty details. My friend Tamera Goldsmith photographed their wedding with me. It’s always a blast to work with Tamera!
Congratulations, Leslie and Brian! I hope you are having a wonderful time in Spain!
Leslie and the ladies got ready at Hotel Monaco in downtown Denver.
Leslie wore a lace gown with a halter neckline and a mermaid silhouette.
I loved how the bouquets reflected the wedding’s green and brown color theme, with green orchids and brown fiddlehead ferns.
Leslie wore some killer blue high heels!
Meanwhile the guys were getting ready at a condo near the museum.

A limo was waiting for Leslie outside the hotel.
A festival had shut down many of the streets, so Leslie was getting nervous about the delays…
… so her bridesmaids kept her laughing (and me, too!)
Leslie wore her grandmother’s pearl ring on her right hand.
Leslie met Brian on the roof of their friends’ condo building.
Brian cried when he saw her.
The roof had a great view of the Denver skyline.
I particularly loved the views of the Denver Art Museum, with its incredible triangular architecture.

Next we headed across the street to the Denver Art Museum for the wedding.
The ceremony was decorated with green paper balls hanging from brown ribbons.
A willow archway at the altar was decorated with green orchids.

A beam of light came through the window, onto Leslie and her dad. I love this photo by Tamera!

Here are Brian’s sister, Erin, and her husband Cole. I photographed their wedding in 2007, and it was wonderful to see them again! You can see their wedding album here.
The reception was beautifully decorated with brown tablecloths, green decorations, and green uplighting.

During dinner, I stepped outside for some of my signature twilight photos. Look at the museum’s amazing architecture!
I peeked through this tunnel door at the wedding guests inside.
While I was outside, a carriage with a dog passed by. I love the blur of the cyclist here.
Leslie wiped a tear during her father’s toast.

This guy had some great Michael Jackson moves!
I loved his zombie walk best.

Coolest wedding venue ever. The museum was definitely a good idea, as was their arch. Nice job.
Wow! These pictures are amazing. I have been looking at photographers (for my wedding) and your work is beautiful.
Yet again, some gorgeous pictures Charlotte. Someone just said you’ve captured the essence of wedding photography beautifully and I couldn’t agree more. I have been a regular visitor to your site since last week (I’m planning a wedding of my own) and I love what you do. The black and white picture of the bride’s train being carried by her bridesmaids is gorgeous and I ADORE those blue shoes!
do you know which room this was in at the museum?
Beatitful shots!

I love:
1) Fiddlehead ferns!!!! This is the second wedding you’ve shot that’s used them in the bridal bouquet (I think?) and they are SO COOL!
2) Green and brown! What an awesome and unexpected color theme!
3) I really like when you see people you’ve photographed before…it’s like a Behind the Music Where are They Now? sort of thing and I like it. π
Gorgeous. π
love the meeting place and that striped wall made a great backdrop!!!
lovely!
Wonderful work Charlotte!
It is a super beautiful place! I hope it happens π we’ll just have to see!
Oh, I LOVE the stripes. I have so much love for that shot.
What a great location. As always, your work is an inspiration, Charlotte.
Val, I’m not sure where the dress is from, sorry! Leslie, feel free to comment if you’d like! π
I love the pictures and her dress. Any ideas where she got them?
I loved the arch, too! I’m not sure what the branches are called, but I call them curly willow. Florist Cori, if you’re reading this, feel free to chime in. π
I’m not sure how the arch was supported, but here’s a photo to give you a better idea:
I bet your cousin’s wedding was beautiful — the art museum is such a great place to get married.
Right back at ya, Tamera! You rock. π
Carrie, I love your vow renewal fantasy. π I love La Jolla, too! I went there for a day last year, and walked around saying “wow” over and over.
It does look like the dress is floating! That’s a cool effect arranged by the hotel — they had a loop of fishing line hanging in front of the window, and the dress was hanging from that.
I am in love with their arch! Do you know if there’s a special term for the branches they used, or are they just…branches? π Also, I can’t really tell–what was holding up the branches? It looks like both a vase and cloth.

OMG! Char these are your best pictures yet! I love the panned one with the horse and carriage and the amazing one of the limo with their reflections and even the one of the mother taking the picture of them dancing. Such unique ideas and great eye for light. Fantastic!
These are fun photos!
I love the shots of the bride’s pearl ring. I’m a real sucker for the ones where people are wearing heirlooms.
The horse-drawn cart with the dog is cute!
it’s great to see this place again. my cousin just had her wedding at the museum in June (with Steve Stanton as her photographer). I really like this set up, it’s gorgeous!
very!!!!!
very!!!!!
I wondered the same thing.
I am in love with the decor of this wedding! SO gorgeous. And her dress is stunning and looks perfect on her. I love that they had it at the art museum too. My fantasy is to have a vow renewal on Jon’s & my 5th anniversary and hold our reception at the museum of contemporary art in La Jolla :). I just think museums are great sites for weddings!
I wondered the same thing.
Killer wedding! I had fun working with you again :o)
Tamera
LOVE her dress and the decorations! Her bouquet is beautiful!
Oh wow. The most beautiful wedding I’ve seen in a long time. That archway! Wow!
What is supporting the dress in that window shot? Looks kind of like it’s floating.
so beautiful. π
