“When I grow up I want to be a nature explorer. They go around learning more about animals and see if they can discover new species so they can be famous.”
— PJ, age 6
PJ took me to his favorite stream and showed me how to catch bugs. He crept silently through the water like a cat stalking prey. Then with a sudden and swift movement, he scooped up a water strider in his hand and celebrated his catch.
Over the next year, I will be profiling young nature lovers and sharing their thoughts about the world around them. Do you know a good candidate for this project? Drop me a note if you do!
If you know a nature lover aged 2-17 in the Reston, Virginia area who would be a good choice for this project, please CONTACT ME. I’d love to hear about your little explorer.
