Frank
Arlington, Virginia
May 7, 2006
I’ve been friends with Frank since we were in college together at UVA, so I was excited when he asked me to do some portraits for his business ventures. We started with formal headshots for his marketing materials. Then we took some more casual photos for his MySpace, showcasing his personality, artwork, and fabulous Clarendon condo.
Pictures like these are great for things like MySpace, blogs, or online dating profiles. Match.com claims that profiles with photos receive ten times more visitors than profiles without. If you’d like some pictures to make you stand out and look great, please let me know.
Those are great pictures of Frank! I keep thinking of him in a wifebeater and snaggly teeth, though so it’s like Extreme Makeover Frank Edition with these photos. Well done!
I loved the simple backgrounds, too. The colors of his apartment were warm and rich, yet masculine. Nice!
He does create the artwork himself. My favorite is the photo hanging over the sofa. It’s a picture of a ten-year-old Tibetan monk jumping through a fire, and it placed in a National Geographic competition a few years ago.
I’ll definitely let you know if we come to the Charlotte area, and I’d be happy to help you if I can.
I really like that portrait–they look so relaxed and comfortable with you. I like this one even more

The lighting is nice, and they look so relaxed and happy.
Re: helloooooooo frank!
I suppose the other pictures do look very “smiley.” He’s a wacky kind of guy, though, so to me, those pictures just say “Frank.” ๐
I thought that was a perfect shirt for that painting. ๐
That sounds great, thanks. I’ll send you an email.
I hope so!
These are great. I love the soft warm lighting, and the simple background that speaks volumes. ๐ Nicely done!
Great photos! He has such a nice smile.
does he create the artwork himself? he’s going to get a LOT of traffic if he puts these on a dating site ๐
of course I want some pics (as you know!) ;-). I still use the one you took of me at the Wash. monument, because it’s the best photo of me that I have. I do need to update it, though.
Oh he is so handsome! I love his dark good looks and his smile! Great photos Charlotte!
Charlotte, if you’re ever in the Charlotte area (oh hah, I’m a hoot) please let me know. I love your portraits and would love to work with you. Would you offer budding photographers any advice during your sessions? I am not good at portraits of people. My best example, out of hundreds of tries, is this one, and it’s not half as vivid or beautiful as some of your casual fun shots:

Loving these portraits. Loved the Meadowlark Gardens ones in particular, as that was where I went for one of my first photography class field trips!
these are great! I’m sure he’s very pleased!
helloooooooo frank!
i like the last pic the best, because of the colors, and because he isn’t as “smiley” as the other pix. ร
Whooo! You’ve got some sexy friends, Charlotte! ๐ Great pics.
I really love the last one. I love how the red in his shirt is picked up by the painting in the background, or vice versa. Great creative eye there Charlotte!
I would like some photos that make me stand out and look great! I don’t like how I look in pictures sometimes, so if you could make me look good then that’d be awesome! Haha ๐
My fiance and I still need to have engagement pics taken…and my mom is all over me to do it soon. What’s your schedule like as far as this summer so far? My email is [email protected] ๐ I’d love to know prices and all! Thanks!
If you’d like some photos to make you stand out and look great, please let me know.
i would if we were half a world away on different continents. maybe someday…
