Baby girl in christening gown after her baptism

While I was in Virginia last week, I was able to attend the baptism and first birthday party of my friend’s daughter. Eve’s mother, Heather, has been my close friend since high school. You might remember Eve from her baby portraits last year. She is now a year old, and toddling around. As you can see, she’s still totally adorable.

Once again, beautiful pictures. I love the ones of Eve on ottoman by herself!

Off topic: I LOVE SmugMug. I found it about a year ago looking for a great place to host pictures and just happened upon it. I’ve never had a site as wonderful as they are, and I’m proud to support them!

Hopefully for her second brithday, Eve and her parents will come out to Colorado Springs.

You haven’t lived until you’ve seen Colorado!

How fun! I can’t believe she’s a year old already! Great photos!

1 year olds are such a fun age. So much personality and you definitely captured that here!

      Hi Tina!

My logos were created by my graphic designer. I made Photoshop PSD versions of them in both black and white, and I manually drag the logo onto each photo in Photoshop. That takes a little time, but I prefer to do it by hand instead of batch processing them, so I can place the logo in a good spot for each individual image.

I don’t watermark more than 50 photos at a time, though. If you are doing 200-2000 at a time, you’ll definitely need to batch process them. I’d use a batch tool in Photoshop if I had to do that. My online gallery system through Smugmug can also do that for me, but I choose not to.

I definitely rely on Photoshop and other Adobe products. I use Lightroom 2.0 for my raw processing, and Photoshop for my JPEGs.

If you want a great book to help you learn Photoshop, I highly recommend those written by Scott Kelby. I learned a lot from his books when I was starting out. Great stuff.

Hi there, I’m not Charlotte, but I am a photographer.

Photoshop is a BIG challenge to get the hang of, but you’ll definitely love it once you learn. For me, it was almost as if there was a day when I suddenly understood and it was easier.

It’s one of those things that really rewards you once you learn! And once you’ve got it, nothing else measures up!

      Best of luck to you!

I love the pictures of her on the ottoman as well. She really does look angelic. So sweet!

      Hi Charlotte…

      Longtime fan here.. 🙂

Two tech questions if you have a moment.

      1. Can you tell me what program/tool you used to create your logos (I note they all have the same exact look – just shift in color to accomodate the image); and

      2. What editing software/program do you use? Is that how you batch watermark your logo onto all your photos posted?

I have to do each one personally in Picnik right now – and I HATE it.

I HATE Photoshop and find it cumbersome and hard to learn… so I am praying you use something else.

      Any recommendations?

We are talking about 200-2000 photos at a time on my end…

Help for a struggling post processor?
