Margie and Jason
The Cable Center
Denver, Colorado
September 19, 2009
Margie and Jason got married on Saturday at the beautiful Cable Center on the campus of the University of Denver. I loved the contemporary architecture of the venue, especially its large windows and curving lines. As soon as I met Margie and Jason, I knew that they’d have a great party with friends who are just as fun as they are. Mike and I laughed all day long.
I’d like to thank my assistant, Lindsey Zahalka, and my husband, Mike, for all their great work. I couldn’t do it without you! Congratulations, Margie and Jason, and thanks for making us feel like part of the family!
Margie and the ladies got ready at the Brown Palace in downtown Denver.
Margie was off to a great start.
Sometimes bridesmaids need bridesmaid assistance, too.
Meanwhile Mike was across town with Jason and the guys.
I love going through Mike’s photos and seeing what happened when the ladies weren’t looking. I have no idea what is going on here.
Jason and the guys rode the Light Rail to the wedding.
The ladies put on the finishing touches at the Cable Center.
Here’s the florist, Chrissy of Bittersweet Designs. Mike and I photographed her wedding in 2006, and it was great to see her!
Chrissy’s green orchids were a beautiful accent in Margie’s hair.
I love the moment when a bride looks in the mirror and realizes that she looks beautiful.
Just before Margie walked down the aisle, Jason took a moment to breathe.

At the end of the ceremony, Margie and Jason walked outside into the setting sunlight.
We went to the central area of the University of Denver for their formal portraits.
One of my favorites
After the portraits, we headed back to the Cable Center under a twilight sky.
The venue was beautifully decorated for the reception, with brown and green table settings and tree branches projected onto the ceiling.
The guests waited on the balcony for the wedding party to arrive.
During the best man’s toast
First dance
I like this view of the parents and maid of honor watching the father-daughter dance. Even Margie’s childhood Cabbage Patch Kid had a front row seat (and a wedding-appropriate tuxedo).
Margie likes cake.
Her enjoyment of the cake was so entertaining that people gathered to watch her eat it.

Wow, these wedding photos are awesome! What a cool wedding venue!
Charlotte,
The photographs are wonderful. Some weeks have now past from the wedding day, and the photographs are even more precious. It all passes so quickly.
Thank you for your keen eye and sensitivity.

Such beautiful photos! I am in love with the colors that come from sunset. Also, the bridesmaid dresses have very cool backs! I love that!
These are so great! The brides maids dresses are so cool!
Incredible.
Thanks so much, everyone!
Karen, that’s so cool that you and Margie work together! I hope you and Jacynda are doing well. 🙂
Breena, it’s great to hear from you! I’m so glad that you love the photos, and it’s great to know that Mike and I were able to capture the day as you remember it, as well as how you didn’t get to see it. You’re so much fun, and I’m glad I got to meet you!
Incredible.
Absolutely beautiful. I love that you guys were dancing on top of the world. Congrats to Jason and Margie!
Charlotte! I can’t wait to buy prints. I remember that day being fun and beautiful, but until now I didn’t see it from your perspective. You had a lot of running around to do in order to take advantage of the layout of the space and I’m altogether thankful to see, for instance, the views of the first dances from the mezzanine. This peek into the whole portfolio of Jason and Margie’s wedding sure does get me excited to see everything. And because I’m still high from spending a weekend with all my friends and being a part of such a touching and loving ceremony, seeing these photos now somehow managed to elevate that highness. You did a really superb job. Mike too! The photos of the guys make me wish I were there getting ready with them too. Great job! On behalf of the wedding party, thank you very much for capturing the fun we all had together.
what a cool venue! great pics as always charlotte – I seriously run out of compliments 😛
Charlotte – These pictures are wonderful. Margie and I actually work together! I knew she was using the same caterer, but I had no idea you were doing her pictures. Just as with Jacynda and my pictures they capture the true emotions of the day!

This is one of my favourite of your shoots because the bride looks SOOOO happy and you can just see how incredibly in love they are. The location is gorgeous, and the crowd just really seemed to jive well together. I love that picture of that other couple dancing. Their chemistry is just phenomenal!
I love how your pictures show so much emotion.
The photo of the couple across the long pond is absolutely wonderful.
Wonderful pictures!
I would like to add your blog to my google reader, I have looked for a link (rss feed for a blog), but unfortunately couldn’t find it. Can you help me with that?
Best regards,
Inna
