My extended family traveled to Missoula, Montana last week to celebrate the life of my dear aunt. It was a sad occasion that brought us there, but we did exactly what my aunt would have wanted us to do: enjoy our precious time together, and explore the grandeur of her home state. Montana is spectacular.
Traveling with kids isn’t easy, but showing them the world and seeing how much they love to explore and learn makes my heart full and grateful.
Our trip got off to a rough start, with a 24-hour unexpected layover in Denver. We didn’t have much time to spend in Montana, so losing a day wasn’t what any of us wanted.
One benefit of having to stay a night in Denver was that we got to show the kids the Colorado Rockies that we love so much. I have the feeling that this excited look on Daniel’s face is the beginning of a lifelong love of the mountains.
Finally we arrived in Montana, excited to see those Rocky Mountains close up.
