Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Last week my cousin Christine, her son James Wyatt, and I went to the zoo here in Colorado Springs. I love the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, because the giraffes walk right up to you and you can feed them. Giraffes are quirky, loveable animals with long blue tongues, and I always laugh a lot when I visit them.
I love this picture of Christine, because it reminds me a lot of this photo of my mother from two years ago. I’ve often thought that my cousin reminds me a lot of my mom/her aunt!
The day started with an early morning stretch as I checked my email.
We arrived at the zoo and went straight to the giraffes.

My favorite animal was the five-month-old tiger! Mike says we can’t get one as a pet. What a meanie.

How cool that you’ve been there! It’s a wonderful zoo, but the giraffe exhibit is by far the best part.
Oh what a great memory. Giraffes are majestic in photos, but even more so in person.

My mom is a total animal cuddler! That’s where I get it. I have photos of her cuddling animals at almost every place we go.
The giraffe enclosure there is my favorite part! I haven’t been there in nearly 15 years, and it seems like yesterday- I remember it so well 🙂
I love all these animal pictures, but the giraffe ones were my favorite because they bring back memories.
My first-ever trip to a zoo was in Honolulu, and I remember climbing all the way up this tower just to get a look at the giraffe.

These pictures are so different from your normal engagement and wedding photographs – I love them. (Not that I don’t love the engagement and wedding pictures!)
