      MEET CHARLOTTE

      HI, I’M CHARLOTTE GEARY

      In photography and in life, I’m drawn to vibrant color, happy energy, natural scenery, and a great story.

      I specialize in portraits, events, and lifestyle for small businesses and families. I also offer fine art scenic photography for purchase in my online shop.

      Since 2001, my photography business has led me to destinations around the country to document people’s stories. Years of experience have taught me how to make people feel comfortable and confident in front of a camera. I’m known for a joyful style of photography with candid authenticity, bright colors, and lots of heart.

      BACKGROUND

      Before starting my photography business over 20 years ago, I earned a masters degree in Educational Psychology/Instructional Technology from the University of Virginia. My bachelors degree is also from UVA, and I’m a Northern Virginia native. I’ve been a photographer since childhood, with many years of formal training.

       

      LOCATION

      I’m lucky to live at Lake Anne in Reston, Virginia, near Washington, D.C. As you can tell by my diverse portfolio, I love to travel and have worked all over the country.

       

      LIFE

      I’m married to a brilliant and hilarious engineer named Mike, and we have two children and a dog. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking at Great Falls, paddleboarding at Lake Anne, or singing karaoke with insufficient talent. My perfect day would involve an outdoor adventure with my family, a vegetarian dinner, and a good book or bad reality show.
