Sue and Manuel

      October 4, 2008

Sue is a friend of mine from my book club, and I remember last year when she told us about this amazing guy that she was dating. She lit up when she spoke of Manuel. It was clear to me that there was something special about this relationship. Sue and Manuel are an adorable couple, and I was thrilled that they asked me to be their photographer. Happy couples are so much fun to photograph, and all the cute kids who attended made the day even better.

Congratulations, Sue and Manuel! I hope you are having a wonderful start to your honeymoon!

Thank you to my good friend, Tamera Goldsmith, who photographed this wedding with me!

The day began just after dawn at Hillside Gardens.

It was a team effort to get the bridesmaids ready.

Sue’s niece was the adorable and outspoken flower girl.

Sue wore a pearl necklace that was a wedding gift from Manuel.

Several young children rang bells to start the ceremony.

Their morning ceremony took place in front of Colorado Springs’ beautiful mountain skyline.

      The sand ceremony

They gave their mothers roses during the ceremony.

Sue’s gift to Manuel was this pocket watch. When I took this photo, they had been married for three minutes.

Manuel tried to eat her face. How adorable are these guys?

I love October weddings! Pumpkins are so pretty.

      First dance

      Sue’s mother watched the father-daughter dance…

      … and wiped a tear.

I always love it when families slow dance together. This little guy was more interested in making faces for me, though.

He also showed me his super-cute face.

      Sue’s very photogenic mother

Toward the end of the reception, I saw this young couple pretending to be a bride and groom. They didn’t know I was watching.

Obviously a very happy bride and groom! A great set of wedding photographs, I especially like the shot of the wedding rings next to the pumpkin.

These are simply beautiful! I, like so many others, love the kid photos — my favorite being the bell-ringing one! So delightful!

      Re: Great photography!

Thanks, Sue! It’s great to hear that you could feel that through the photos.

I love outdoor weddings, too! The temperature has already dropped since Saturday, and I’m getting a little sad that winter is coming.

I love autumn weddings! They feel warm and cozy, and I love the rich colors. 🙂

What a nice thing to say, thanks! I’m so glad that you enjoy reading it!

Haha, that’s awesome. They really are a great couple!

Manuel is quite the dancer, too! The two of them spent most of the reception dancing together.

I loved her soft waves accented with the pearls!

It was a priceless moment! Kids really react to weddings in unexpected ways.

      I just looove you blog!
Photos too, it goes without saying, but the way you write is just great – easy to read and not arrogant as way too many photographers tend to do.

I haven’t felt like this about any of your other subjects, which isn’t bad, but I just feel like I want to HUG this couple LOL. They look so cuddily and approachable! Okay that was a weird comment… haha.

Love the pictures of the kids – last one and the one when they are running 🙂

how do you pick a prettiest bride!? haha

I love the photos of the bride, she looks so happy, and she is easily the prettiest of Charlotte’s brides with her pearls in her hair and around her neck! gorgeous!

What a fun couple! I love how Manuel posed for you! And what a beautiful wedding, every detail is so pretty!

      I miss fall!

I thought the pumpkins rings photo was my favorite, but then that last photo just about KILLED ME. So cute!
