Mike and I are excited to announce our new website! It features larger photos, more content, and a prettier design. I love how the large images really showcase the photos!

That’s wonderful to hear, thank you!

Amazing new site. I’ve never found another photographer that I just am constantly in awe of how well you capture the moments in the pictures you and Mike take.

      Job well done you two!

Hmmm… that’s actually a great idea about the “Wedding Ideas” series. I will probably wait until I’ve written more of them, but I think I will probably add them to the site. Thanks for the great idea!

I think what’s been the most fun for me is how involved you actually are when you become more thoughtful about photography.

I think that photography helps me notice and appreciate more about the world around me.

That’s great that you were on my old site so recently, so you can compare. I love the changes we’ve made.

I don’t know if this is a viable suggestion, but have you ever thought of putting your “Wedding Ideas” series more front and center on your website? For those of us who read your journal, we know that it’s on here, and we can go looking for it. But, what if someone finds you out of the blue?

I’m so excited that you’re getting more involved in your photography.

Me, too! I think what’s been the most fun for me is how involved you actually are when you become more thoughtful about photography.

      Re: Wow!

Oh yes, you’re all there! Except poor Hokie and Harley, who didn’t make the cut. Sorry, kitties!

Call me when your time comes! ๐Ÿ™‚

I guess it’s a good problem for me to have that you’d like each photo to show longer in the slideshows. I’ve done some preliminary research, and found that three seconds seems just about right for most people’s attention spans. I agree that it’s a bit fast, but you can navigate with the arrows if you’d like to have control over the amount of time each photo is shown.

Thanks very much for the input!

Thank you, Holly! I’m excited to have all the great SEO opportunities with HTML.

Who me? Nah. I’m glad you liked it! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m just as excited as you are! ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m sorry it took so long to load! I do hope it will be faster on other networks.

It’s true that my album pricing is an ask-and-receive arrangement. There are so many options available for each album that it would be too complicated to list them all on the site.

That’s great that you were on my old site so recently, so you can compare. I love the changes we’ve made.

I’m so excited that you’re getting more involved in your photography.

*Grin* Right back at you, Kyle.

Thanks! I’m glad you liked it.

I’ll be sending you a bill for your Flash software.

Oh I’m not offended by people with convictions like that. That doesn’t mean I’m changing anything as a result, though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Re: love it!

Thanks!! I’m glad, because you did. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yikes, sorry about that, but I haven’t logged into Myspace in ages. I much prefer Facebook. Add me there if you’d like!

      Wow!

Almost my whole family is featured! ๐Ÿ™‚ You did an excellent job!

I think it’s great. I still love your work, you have to do my wedding if/when I get married!

Only one suggestion, is it possible to slow the slideshows down by a second or two? I feel like they go a little too fast when I really want to look at every detail in the pictures.

I love your new site! Great job!!! It is also one of the coolest html sites I’ve ever seen! The great photography helps too ๐Ÿ™‚

      You…. make me jealous. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Great looking site Charlotte ๐Ÿ™‚

awwww what an awesome site, charlotte!!!!

makes me SOOOOO excited that you’re photographing my wedding!!!!!

The site took super long to load for me, but I’m using the campus wireless so it may just be me!

My only complaint would be the lack of prices for the albums and other products – are they there somewhere, or on a “ask and you shall receive” basis?

I like how the new site has turned out: a nice update of an already clean, pretty, and functional site (was browsing the old one last night).

I really do appreciate that we get to see more of your work– the kids and the pets as well as the wedding photography.

And of course, I have my selfish reasons for being able to access your work more easily: it inspires me to work harder on my own photography.

      You’re welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m always glad to have new places to see your photography.
… and when you have a chance, could’ja check your Myspace friend request queue? ๐Ÿ™‚

you are just made of awesome.

      Oh, that’s just lovely.

I love it! It looks amazing, and I love the tree design.

Also, that exchange up above was umm, kind of awesome. My favorite part: “Wow, you sure are passionate about this topic. Good luck on your quest.” So hilariously diplomatic. I don’t think the glasses in a gallery analogy works very well either, because viewing Flash sites is free, so you do not in fact have to buy a pair of non-refundable glasses. So there!

it’s gorgeous. don’t listen to people who are too self-righteous to keep up with technology. and I applaud your ability to be polite, which I sometimes lack entirely ๐Ÿ™‚

      love it!

      great job!
love the re-design! i’d hire you all! ๐Ÿ™‚

      whew, sorry about that ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s rare to find a nice minimal easy loading flash site, it’s true flash is used poorly in a lot of case, but this isn’t one of them!

Thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚ I deleted his comment because it was inappropriate for this blog.

I don’t remember calling you “Stupid” that’s a word you used.

You are arguing something in the wrong forum, and that is rude. If you read my comment it said the navigation is not flash, not the images. The gallery is flash.

You are essentially creating your own problem by blocking flash. And you’re angry about blocking it and not blocking it.

I recommend you take your anger out on adobe instead of a creator using a perfectly valid and correctly-used function of the web.

      Have a nice day ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow, you sure are passionate about this topic. Good luck on your quest.

Also think about it: the #1 smart phone does not support Flash. Nor does the #2. With Internet access going mobile, I guess you make the choice.

It is not philosophical, it is *technical*. The WWW is based on openness, and has become sucessful like it is because it stayed open. CompuServe, AOL, MSN and what not, they are all dead. Using Flash just go against that.

(and I will not enter into the security consideration, this would highly technical, just that Flash designed with security in mind either).

It’s actually NOT flash, it’s javacript (at least for the navigation you pointed out).
      You should update your browsers.

And if you work in the web, you should be embracing of popular technologies even if only from a stand point of being able to see how they present content, and see how they work so you can do better and create better web content…or you know, just to see a large majority of the internet video and sites.

Also, taking this gripe up with a a person who is showing off her site for the first time is really really incredibly rude. Please pick your forum better.

maybe an angry letter to Adobe would be a better arena to vent in? You are in a small minority when it comes to flash adoption stats. Furthermore, her site is not flash, so it’s irrelevant in this instance.

So it’s a philosophical objection, then? Well it’s too bad that you won’t be able to browse our photos. We’re really pleased with the galleries.

Thanks, Carrie! I wanted to keep the overall look and feel of my branding, but spice it up!

      Mike has awesome web skills!

Flash is a CLOSED technology (exclusivity of Adobe). The WWW is build on openness and independence, and Flash is just the opposite of that. I see nothing cool using Flash, only advertising, site not accessible to people with disabilities, that take long to download, etc. and no content.

Imagine you are showing your work in a gallery. But when people enter the gallery they have to *buy* a pair on uncomfortable glasses they have to wear in order to see the pictures closely hidden behind some secret thing that become transparent only when you wear said uncomfortable glasses.
Off course, when you leave the gallery you have to give them back (no refund). Worse: you already wear glasses, it does not work well, unless you have a specific kind of frame. So it is either your prescription glasses or the viewing glasses.

That’s exactly what Adobe is doing with Flash.

Thank you! I like how the tree is a subtle way to accent my flower logo. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love it! It looks amazing, and I love the tree design.

I don’t think the glasses in a gallery analogy works very well either, because viewing Flash sites is free, so you do not in fact have to buy a pair of non-refundable glasses. So there!

Why are you so opposed to Flash? Some of the coolest sites on the Internet use Flash. I would never want to block myself from all those great resources.

And now that I have clicked on one of the links on the left side, all the galleries are made of Flash, therefor, definitely, nothing to see.

Too bad, I really like your pictures.

Love the new site, as I said on Twitter! I like that you kept most of the original colors (love the navy blue) but the new logo & large photos are superb!

I don’t have Flash installed but I do have Flash Block installed (make Firefox less annoying, otherwise it always complain). So whenever there is supposed to be some Flash, there is a HUGE placeholder instead. And in that case there is. I didn’t click on any on the link though, so maybe it was just the first impression.

it’s gorgeous. don’t listen to people who are too self-righteous to keep up with technology. and I applaud your ability to be polite, which I sometimes lack entirely ๐Ÿ™‚

Amazing! ๐Ÿ™‚ Very beautiful site – simple & elegant. I like the ‘new’ (?) tree icon that utilizes your ‘standard logo’. Great job, you both did awesome!

Actually my wonderful husband Mike built the site!

Did you design/code it at all? Or did you hire someone? They did a great job.

      whew, sorry about that ๐Ÿ™‚

      And beautiful photography, as usual.

Wow, that’s not very nice. Actually’s it’s HTML, but I’m glad you think it’s sleek enough to look like flash. Only the photo galleries use flash on this site.

It’s actually NOT flash, it’s javacript (at least for the navigation you pointed out).
