Moonset over Rocky Mountain National Park
      Estes Park, Colorado
      July 27, 2006

I’ve had a full couple of weeks! I spent a week and a half in Virginia, visiting my parents and my brother and his family. I went kayaking with my friend Sarah in western Virginia. I went to my cousin Christine’s baby shower in Maryland. I caught up with friends I hadn’t seen in ages. Best of all, I got in lots of playtime with my niece and nephew.

This week I came back to Colorado, just in time for a family reunion in Estes Park. My aunt, uncle, cousins, and cousins’ children rented a house with a phenomenal view of Rocky Mountain National Park. They all live far away from me (Indiana, New York, and Texas), so I was thrilled that they chose my state for their vacation! It was great to be able to visit them in my own neck of the woods, and such a gorgeous location, too. This morning we woke up early to take family portraits in the park, at a perfect spot along a winding creek. The photo above was the view from the house patio last night.

Now I am getting all caught up with my work, so I won’t have a chance to sort through all my family photos for another week or so. I’ll have a lot of family pictures to share eventually.

Sunday is our first anniversary. I can’t believe a year has gone by so fast!

Ooh? You’ll have to tell me details and let me know if you do! For some reason I see you all living in Shanahan Ridge, which is this nice place right near the open space in south/west Boulder. You should look it up ๐Ÿ˜‰ if you havent already haha.

Actually we’re thinking about it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Come live in Boulder!!! That way the next time we want pictures taken you’ll be local ;)!!

That sounds like a great family vacation! I hope to do similar things with our future children. I know that my aunt, uncle, and cousins loved their time there last week.

I want to live in Boulder, so I can go up to Estes all the time. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh wow, that picture is gorgeous. I’m disappointed that I missed that sunset!

Gorgeous picture… I love that area, too!

Thanks for that. ๐Ÿ™‚ There is something about your comments that always makes me smile.

I remember Estes Park. When I was 14, I think, my family and another family spent a few days there. We stayed at the boy scout(?) camp they had there with cabins. We rode horses, hiked, bowled at some lanes they had there, and fished in the creeks/river. It was a lot of fun. Great views too, but I was 14 and didn’t appreciate that as much.

Good place for a family reunion.

I love this photograph ๐Ÿ™‚ it’s so serene!

And congrats on your wedding anniversary!
