Ally in our backyard
      February 2009

I’ve been meaning to take a picture of Ally in this spot. Every afternoon the sun comes over the mountain into our yard, and our big evergreen tree casts a shadow on our fence. When Ally stands in the sunlight in front of the shaded fence, her fur shines so beautifully.

And whatever the heck this one is.

Her short snout and eyebrows are very rotty to me.

      Very much so.

I’ve been loving your animal photos lately!

      Thank you! 😀

I’ve been having a blast just taking my camera places and taking pictures. I’ve found that I notice things about animals that I’ve never noticed before, for virtue of never being as close to them for long periods of time. Like how dogs have eyebrows. XD

She was past ‘up there’ in years and she was wearing out. She went in her sleep. She was never in pain of any kind, so we at least have that to be thankful for.

Except when she’s jumping on you guys!

I think so, too! She likes to sit with her white chest held high like that.

I love that one, too! She’s a funny pooch.

Oh no, I’m so sorry about your boyfriend’s dog. Please give him my condolences. How very sad.

I love that one, too! I wasn’t sure if it was a photo only a doggie mother could love, so I’m glad you liked it, too.

      Aw thanks! She’s a sweetie.

I definitely see some Rottweiler in her, too. Her short snout and eyebrows are very rotty to me.

I wish I knew about this before I stumbled on it while watching TV yesterday; otherwise, I would have you and Mike know so you could have set your Tivo or VCR to record it.

Yesterday, ABC showed an hour of highlights of a recent international rugby tournament that took place in San Diego.

Being that Mike’s English (England won the women’s title; but lost the men’s finals to Argentina in a major upset), I think he would have enjoyed watching the show.

Usually, Rugby on American television is buried on ESPN or Versus at three in the morning. Rugby followers in this country were happy to see it get exposure on a major network in a decent timeslot.

I think the last time a major network showed rugby was a world championship over 30 years ago on “Wide World Of Sports”.

Hopefully, you guys did learn about it and were able to watch or record it!

I loved the adventure Ally had recently where she herded sheep!:)

And I’ll bet she even gave you, her Mommy, a Valentine’s card (written with Mike’s help)

she is one pretty girl! no doubt about it!

what a pretty girl! she looks so regal in the serious pose!

      That last photo is adorable!

I believe that that last look is “Gosh, whatever I ate last sure was tasty.” 🙂 Thank you for these pictures. I’m going to forward them to my boyfriend, he just lost his dog (of fifteen years) I and *know* these will cheer him up.

…I see some Rottweiler in there for some reason.

Lovely photographs of a very cute dog. I’m a sucker for cute animals, can’t you tell? 🙂

      She’s so sweet!
I especially love the last photo!

haha what an adorable dog 😀

I was thinking Bernese. I had one and a mix now and I see some of the similarities.

      <3333 awwww what a sweetie. ^_^

Thanks! We think so, too. 🙂 She’s an Australian shepherd mix, be we aren’t sure what she’s mixed with. People have guessed Bernese mountain dog, rottweiler, golden retriever, and many others. We just think of her as a perfect breed of mutt.

She is gorgeous! What breed/mix is she?
