Yesterday was a gorgeous day here in Colorado, so we took our sailboat out for a spin on a lake. Our friend Tamera and our dog Ally joined us for a great day on the water.

OK, so technically it’s a miniature sailboat.

Ally chased tennis balls. She’s become quite a strong swimmer!

I like this photo of the three of them, each doing their own thing. Tamera was taking photos, Mike was steering his remote-control boat, and Ally was waiting patiently for someone to throw her tennis ball.

Here’s a crop of the previous photo. When I walked to the car to get drinks, Ally sat by her chuck-it and waited for me to come back and play with her some more.

Ally leaped through the water like a dolphin.

She only learned to swim last summer. Until then, she was always afraid to go in water over her head.

Afterward, we went to Eleven Mile Reservoir to look around.

Actually I just toweled her off a little, and then let her in the jeep wet. I covered the seat with towels and opened the window to let her dry off. It’s good to have a car that we don’t mind getting dirty.

Aw thanks! She’s a ton of fun.

Either that boat is really small, or Mike is really big. You decide. 😉

haha! Nope, we have a more modest boat budget than that. 😉

How long does it take Ally to dry off enough to go back in the car?

i love your dog! she’s so cute!

I was totally expecting a big boat! *lmao* Thanks for the chuckle. 🙂

You made me laugh. Well done!

I have to admit that when I read that, I thought, “wow. You guys own a boat?” and then when I saw what the boat was, I thought, “oh, you mean that kind of boat!” XD

The latter might even be far more fun.

      AWESOME.

You made me laugh. Well done!
