From the guestbook of Jessica and Dave
Album cover (back, spine, and front)
I’ve been making lots of albums this winter! Here is a guestbook that I created for Jessica and Dave’s March wedding. I love this kind of guestbook! I used their engagement portraits, and left extra space for their wedding guests to sign the book. This is an 8″x10″ book with matte pages that lie flat, and a full-bleed photo cover.
Engagement guestbooks are always a huge hit at weddings–guests love looking through all the photos!

About Me
Hi, I’m Charlotte! I’m a photographer in Reston, Virginia. I love hiking, running, and exploring the world with my husband and young son.

I’ve always thought your guestbooks were so beautiful! Someday when I’m ‘professional’ & have access to album printers, I definitely want to do these!!
That’s such an awesome idea.
I love the page with just their hands and Jessica showing off her engagement ring.
what a great idea. That’s really special!
lovely, as always.
This is fabulous! I don’t know why but it had never occurred to me to do this.
If you don’t mind me asking, where do you print them? Smugmug?
OMG! it’s AWESOME!!!!
How awesome!
What a great idea…a guest book with photos!
wow, you rock, lady
nice layouts!

I’ve never seen a guestbook like this but I love it. It’s so much better and more memorable than the usual.
These books are such a huge hit! You should really try them out when you are ready.
Thanks… sometimes a simple photo can say so much.
I have them printed by Vision Art. They make lovely albums that lie open flat, with matte-finish paper that is easy to write on.
Thanks!!
Thanks! I think their wedding guests are really going to enjoy it!
Aw shucks, thanks.
I love the idea of opening a photo album filled with messages from friends and family. It’s much more personal than a book filled only with signatures.
as you know i used the pics you took of us for our guestbook. my favorite comment to look at is one by a pic of us holding hands walking down a hill, the best man wrote “CHEESY!” in huge letters and it makes me crack up everytime!
Ha! That’s evil! I can’t remember… is he married? If not, you may have to consider revenge when the opportunity presents itself.
Thanks! I’ve heard a lot about VA books, but never seen one. Time to get a few samples, I guess..
this is great!
mind if i ask where they were taken?

Thanks! We did the photo shoot at Red Rock Canyon Open Space in Colorado Springs. It’s one of my favorite parks in this whole area.
I complately agree. Love what you’ve done with them.
A few people that I know have done this sort of thing instead of the typical signature book; I like looking at the various photos that the couple has choosen as well as seeing the comments. One of my friends that has done this sort of thing has mounted them behind glass and has hung them a wall. Great idea.

Love your pics!!! Great job and your comments made me laugh quotin Flo Rida:) Really like the pic of the father, the bridesmaid carrying the groomsmen.. pretty much love em all. You’re the best!
I *love* the photo of her with the water with raindrops on it in the background! you have such an eye for the simple things that make a photograph extraordinary.
So beautiful! I love the colors in the water. The pic of you and your mom on the mountain is so cute!
This couple mirrors each other more than any couple i’ve seen on your page. It’s striking. They must be really close, or connected or right for each other.
And I love her veil! It’s like another secret bridesmaid, it’s so pretty!
good link! thanks!
Hot Fuzz!
We saw that with you! How fun! And you know, Tim would not even come close to fitting in those doorways!!!! ;0)
Great pics! Happy vacationing! ;0)
These pictures give me the impression that the stereotypical idea of “Jolly Old England” does in fact exist where you guys went!
omg, i’d totally order that spaghetti/ice cream! yum and it looks so cool!
as much as i love seeing your professional shots, i definitely also love peeking into your personal life! looks like you’ve had a fun summer!
SO VERY JEALOUS!
What was he shooting with, glass-wise?
Lovely pictures as always. The venue reminds me of many an 18th-century PA stone farmhouse.
…what, no pictures of the pocketwatch? (Sorry, I’m a bit of a pocketwatch geek– I was at a seminar where the scholar sitting next to me, an older man, opened up his pocketwatch and set it on the table. I ended up having a lovely conversation with him about it, and I had to resist asking him if I could whip out my compact camera to get a picture of it. Wouldn’t have been appropriate in the circumstances).
